We've tried to give you a sense of the work we do and the way we strive to do it. We can honestly say that good things happen here every day. We invite you to learn how working together can make more good things happen for you, too.
We may have to pull our own weight, but we make the weight a little lighter. We see ourselves as a collaborative in which all feel valued and supported. We promote developing a work-life balance that sustains you, and self-care is expected. We value each others' time and we communicate effectively. We strive to help each other thrive. We're convinced this is the most basic step in our ability to offer effective, compassionate services.
As much as possible, providers are encouraged to niche, to offer services for which they demonstrate mastery and that they find to be most rewarding. Providers who share knowledge with the team, mentor or supervise, or who wish to play a special role in the organization are encouraged to share their vision. If we haven't mentioned what makes work rewarding for you, let us know. We probably just didn't think of it.
We're serious when we say that we're a collaborative network. Too often, we are asked to work in isolation. It's the opposite of how the best things get done. We avoid unnecessary meetings so we can have important ones. At Essential Behavior, providers are encouraged to seek mentorship regardless of certification status. Certification simply does not always prepare BCBAs for the hands-on work required. We can say that learning with us is learning with some of the best. Our Electronic Health Record is a thing of beauty. We developed it to match the way we work and to be user-friendly and intuitive. Our EHR streamlines the process of documentation to the point that documentation can be completed in real time. Tab through fields to enter information as quickly as you can type. Easily compose payor required notes with the Plan of Care visible during documentation. We believe documentation is instrumental in providing quality services, not just a task to get out of the way. So we developed every single element of the software to get work done without the aggravation of working with multiple programs that do not interface, repetitive entry of information, and switching from window to window to enter data . Additionally, documents you create in the course of treatment are searchable in the EHR and can be retrieved at any time, No more reporting work in the EHR and switching to another program to alert that you reported. On average users master our billing system after one of two uses. After learning the system, each note takes an average of 5 to 7 minutes to complete. We took the aggravating out and left a simple, streamlined system that helps you get work done. Period.
We believe in pay for performance not just pay for hours. Performance is measured objectively and includes measures of participant/client progress and progress on self-selected professional goals. We value high ethical standards, service to the field, the BCBA team and the community, and a host of other behaviors that lead to positive outcomes. Performance based compensation is self-selected and may include access to professional development opportunities, bonuses, or choice of other reinforcers.
We firmly believe that self-care is foundational to service. We support the work-life balance our providers seek for themselves. Some considerations in work-life balance may be the number of participants and clients supported, the ages or needs of potential clients, the hours and days that will be worked, and days and times when work is not welcome. We will do all we can to honor a "driving zone" and to match clients to each provider's niche. Because we only accept clients if we have a BCBA or BCBA in training who is well versed in the client's needs, we offer mentorship and professional development to providers who wish to expand their knowledge into a new area. We will pair interested providers with a mentor or supervisor to ensure quality of services while providers learn.
Our commitment to collaboration and mentorship is the perfect model for those seeking internships. We welcome RBT and BCBA trainees and candidates to join us for supervised service hours or short-or long-term internships. We offer a huge library of materials to borrow for running assessments and training programs based on PEAK, VBMapp, Essential for Living and others. We stock many reinforcers and we may be able to offer digital access to assessments. We want to make it easier to focus on the work that makes a real difference.
We welcome self-managed people who work because they love it. Because we seek team members, we worry less about the hours you put in and more about the differences you make in people's lives. It takes knowledge, professionalism, passion, data, and a deep regard for people to make it on this team.
